Millwall and Luton Town transfer target subject of rejected bid from Grimsby Town

According to TEAMtalk, Grimsby Town have had a bid rejected for Dundalk defender Cameron Dummingan, who is reportedly on the radar of a host of sides, including Championship pair Millwall and Luton Town.

TEAMtalk has claimed that Championship pair Millwall and Luton Town, League One duo Ipswich Town and Lincoln City and League Two outfit Forest Green Rovers are all interested in former Burnley and Oldham Athletic defender Cameron Dummigan, who currently plays for Irish side Dundalk.

With a number of clubs said keen on Dummigan, it is League Two side Grimsby Town who have reportedly made the first move to try and bring the sought after defender in this summer. However, their offer for the 23-year-old has been knocked back by Dundalk, who will commence their Champions League qualifying campaign soon.

The right-back has only been with Dundalk a matter of months, joining up with the Irish outfit in February of this year on a free transfer from Oldham Athletic. But, a host of Football League sides are plotting moves to try and bring him back to England ahead of the new season.

The former Northern Ireland youth international started his career in the youth academy at Cliftonville before heading to Burnley’s academy. He remained with the Clarets for four years, playing no games for the club’s first-team before heading out on loan to Oldham Athletic, who he went on to join permanently in 2016.

In his time with Oldham, Dummigan played a total of 85 games, scoring three goals and assisting three times along the way.
