Charlton Athletic working on deal for Sheffield United defender Kean Bryan

According to a report from The Sun journalist Alan Nixon (transfer news live feed, 8th January), Charlton Athletic are working on a deal to sign Sheffield United defender Kean Bryan in a “bargain deal”.

Defender Kean Bryan is far down the pecking order with Premier League side Sheffield United, and now, it has been reported by The Sun that the Blades are willing to move him on in the January transfer window.

Championship side Charlton Athletic have been linked with a move for Bryan and speaking on Twitter to provide an update on the Addicks’ pursuit for Bryan, The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has said that the fee and terms of the deal are still being worked on. He said:

Bryan, 23, has played in three games for Chris Wilder’s side across all competitions so far this campaign, most recently in their FA Cup Third Round win over AFC Fylde. He is yet to appear in the matchday squad for any of Sheffield United’s games so far and is yet to make his league debut for the Blades.

Bryan made his way through the youth academy at Manchester City, playing for the club’s youth sides before heading out on loan to gain some senior experience with Bury and Oldham Athletic. He left Manchester City in the summer of 2018, joining Sheffield United on a free transfer.

Now, with Sheffield United willing to allow Bryan to move away and Charlton Athletic said keen, it will be interesting to see how his situation develops over the course of the January transfer window.
